Contour Thread Lift

Is an implantable, specially designed surgical thread used to lift sagging skin on the mid-face, forehead, eyebrows, and neck. Colloquially, it has been referred to as the “lunchtime facelift” because of its short duration, which is approximately one hour. It is also popular because of the minimal recovery time involved. While the Contour Thread Lift is not designed to replace a full surgical facelift, it can effectively address moderate drooping of the face and brow.

Benefits of Contour Thread Lift

Contour thread lift can help patients obtain a more youthful, rested look in a relatively short period of time with minimal scarring and without the need for general anesthesia. The Contour Thread Lift is also regarded as a more affordable alternative to a full facelift.

The Procedure

A contour thread lift begins with the surgeon using a thick, hollow needle to insert a thread into the facial skin to target its underlying fat layer. This starts near the cheekbone, if the target area is the nasolabial folds. One end of the thread is then tied to deeper, firmer internal structures in the face while the other end of the thread travels under the skin about four inches.

When the surgeon withdraws the needle, barbs on the sutures deposit themselves in the drooping parts of the face. Then, the surgeon gently tugs on the thread, which elevates the loose skin to a more youthful position. The new collagen that naturally forms around each thread will maintain the lifted effect for years to come. Normally, a minimum of four threads is needed to achieve desired results.
